All of my prices have a built in allowance for my "average" shipping costs and I only charge a small fee for orders under $50. However, shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is nearly twice my average for some items. Canada and other international locations can be even more.
PayPal doesn't give me the option of using real shipping rate tables so I'm forced to build my own and estimate how much more it will cost. This situation is less than ideal and as a result I must overestimate the actual costs. I've built tables for Alaska, Hawaii, APO/FPO and Canada. These orders will have this estimated shipping cost added at checkout. This cost is on top of that built into my prices.
I have not built rate tables for other locations. If your order shows a shipping charge of $999.00 then you should contact me in advance of actually placing it. (If you do complete checkout with the $999 shipping charge, PayPal will actually attempt to charge you that much. I will of course refund the excess.) Let me know what you plan to order and I'll build a temporary shipping rate table for your location. But please be warned that the international shipping may be as much or more than the cost of the items ordered.
The estimated additional shipping will probably be higher
than it should be and I will refund the excess when your order ships.
If you're a PayPal member, this refund will go into your PayPal account.
If you paid by credit card and are not a member, then the refund will end up going back to your card.
The refund will be the difference between the actual shipping cost and the sum of my average cost and the extra shipping charged.
Here are the rate tables currently being used to calculate the additional shipping:

The Postal Service will generally be used for these orders. However, I have found that in some cases FedEx is the best choice for Hawaii.
Normally nature tables are shipped in a rather large box with the base and legs fully assembled. To reduce costs, they will be sent with the base and legs unassembled. Assembly will require gluing several joints and clamping.
There are some special situations where I can ship to Alaska and Hawaii using priority mail flat rate boxes at no additional cost. In these cases I'll refund any shipping beyond what would normally be charged. (Orders under $50 will be charged $4.50 shipping.) This usually occurs with butterfly orders, orders for one or two stools, and orders for one to four paint trays.
I truely regret the inconvenience of this.
I've tried to maintain a shipping included policy, but orders shipped to these locations would be serious money loosers if I didn't do something.
These procedures are my best effort, within the technical limitations of PayPal, to recover my costs in a fair manner.
