Nature Table Assembly Instructions

Nature tables ship in a large box and box size has an effect on the shipping cost.  In order to keep shipping costs down the table is shipped partially assembled with the top inverted over the legs.  (One inch taller would add about $15 to the cost.)

Assembly:

Step 1:   Place the table top upside down on a level surface.

Step 2:   Run a bead of white or yellow glue around the top edge of the leg assembly.  (Elmers white glue works good.  Do not use washable school glue.)

Step 3:   Place the leg assembly upside down on the table top, aligning the outer edge with the guide lines on the tabletop.  Place a couple large books on top of the leg assembly and allow the glue to dry overnight.

Please note:  When assembling the table you may notice that some of the joints in the base may have a small gap on one side.  This is normal and is not a defect.  These gaps are caused by minor variations in the squareness of the legs and the length of the rails.  On the corner tables, I purposely undercut the angles at the ends of the front rails to insure that any gaps appear on the inside of the assembly where they will not be visible.  These gaps do not affect the strength of the leg assembly as the joints are actually held together by a hardwood spline (called a biscuit) within the joint.
